Central Groups 2024-25
I am writing to thank you for your support over the last session in relation to your child’s attendance at Central Groups orchestras. Our Central Groups rehearsals will resume w/b 30 September, for one week only prior to the October holidays, then resuming w/b 21 October at the North Inch Community Campus, Gowans Terrace, Perth.
Perth Youth Orchestra (Monday – 6pm – 8pm)
Brass Band (Wednesday – 6pm – 7.30pm)
Concert Band (Wednesday – 6pm – 7.30pm)
Wind Orchestra (Wednesday – 6pm – 7.30pm)
Guitar Ensemble (Wednesday – 6pm – 7.30pm)
Choir (Thursday – 6pm – 7.30pm)
Percussion Ensemble (Thursday – 6pm – 7.30pm)
Piping Ensemble (Thursday – 6pm – 7.30pm)
String Orchestra (Thursday – 6pm – 7.30pm)
Senior String Orchestra (Thursday – 6pm – 7.30pm)
Please note, a Central Groups fee of £100.00 has been introduced this year which allows pupils to attend multiple orchestras should they wish. Exemptions are available to parents on low income. The Perth & Kinross Music Foundation may also be able to provide assistance to costs. Further information regarding help with Central Groups fees is available via our online application link provided below.
Transport will be provided for pupils living out with Perth on Wednesday & Thursday nights. We are pleased to confirm there is no charge to use this service.
Should you wish for your child to attend Central Groups this session, 2024-25, please complete a Central Groups application form available via the following link https://my.pkc.gov.uk/service/Reapply_for_music_tuition_or_apply_for_central_groups. Please select “Continue without an account” on the login screen. Please do not login to your MyPKC account as the Central Groups application requires no login.
If your child is intending to use the transport provided to rehearsals, please indicate this when completing the application form to ensure the buses are not oversubscribed. A transport timetable can be viewed on our Instrumental Music Service website www.pkcmusic.com/resources
If you are unsure of which orchestra your child is eligible to attend this year, please ask your child to discuss this with their Instrumental Instructor who can advise.
All applicants will be emailed prior to first rehearsal confirming upcoming rehearsal and concert dates.
