Rachel Weiss reports, “It was not an auspicious start this morning. Grey, wet, cold, the kind of morning for which the term “dreich” was invented! Nonetheless we gathered at 6.40am in Rodney Gardens car park and set off in convoy to Errol Car Boot Sale. Three PYO committee members, one PYO player and a co-opted parent.”
“Have you ever been to Errol car boot sale? I hadn’t. It’s the largest one in Scotland, apparently. We set out our wares in the cold wind and drizzle and immediately faced three waves of visitors: first the dealers looking for a bargain, then the smokers looking for a bargain and finally the Eastern Europeans looking for a bargain (forgive the gross simplification of market segmentation). I’m pleased to report that we haggled our way to satisfying all three groups and made over £500!”
“Thank you to all of you who donated goods from your spring-cleaning.”
“I thought you might like to see one of the ways we kept warm while manning our stands (see attached photo of bouncing committee member and helper) – another way was with warm Bovril.”
