At Perth Youth Orchestra’s Annual Concert in the Perth Concert Hall, on Sunday 7th April 2024, Mr Allan Young MBE presents D. Eoin Bennet Awards to the winners of the orchestra’s annual auditions to select players to take a solo turn. This year’s auditions were adjudicated in early March by Mr Jason Blyth, Head of Music at Bertha Park School, Perth.

Chloe Moodie, a pupil at Perth Grammar School, played a movement from Mendelssohn’s Piano Concert No.1. Chloe is also attending the Junior Conservatoire in Glasgow and is going on to study music next year. Eva Seba, from the Community School of Auchterarder, played part of Ney Rosauro’s Concerto or Marimba and Strings.

The soloists’ awards are in memory of Mr D. Eoin Bennet, the orchestra’s conductor from 1967-2001
